“Possibly the best art tutor working in the UK today!”

“Peter is one of the very best art tutors I’ve ever worked with. Filled with artistic knowledge that he shares so freely, enthusiastic, inspiring and so encouraging to those he works with, wherever they are on their artistic journey. I cannot recommend booking any of Peter’s workshops (in-person or online) enough!”

About Art House Wimbledon - @arthousewimbledon on Instagram

Set in the very heart of Wimbledon town centre, opposite the iconic New Wimbledon Theatre, Art House Wimbledon is a beautifully light and spacious, private, studio space owned and run by fellow professional artist, Colin Fitzpatrick. Situated just 8 minutes walk from Wimbledon mainline train station and underground (District Line), the studio is located next to the thriving hub of cafes, shops and restaurants that Wimbledon has to offer. There are plenty of accommodation options available very close by. There is also a car park, 1 minutes walk from the studio (daily fees apply).

2-day Portrait Painting from Photos:

Mon 27 – Tue 28 April

£300

Over the 2 days, I will guide you through my structured approach to creating a fully painted head-and-shoulders portrait in oils, which includes the following key steps;

  • How to start a portrait

  • Mixing accurate flesh tones

  • Capturing facial details

  • Creating a good likeness

  • Not over working the painting

3-day Portrait Workshop with Live Models:

Wednesday 29 Apr – Fri 1 May

£495

Over the 3-days, I will guide you through my approach to both sketching and painting from the live, clothed portrait model. Day 1 will see you use charcoal on paper where you will develop your skills on proportions and tonal values. Day 2 will see you paint a portrait from life in oils. Day 3 will be working from reference photos taken on the previous days to finish the painting or to begin a new one. Principles covered will include;

  • Beginning a portrait in a more loose and expressive way

  • Using a more contemporary approach to colour

  • Using a wide range of mark-making and brush techniques

  • Not over working the painting
