Join me for a week of painting the stunning scenes of Atelier Clos Mirabel overlooking the glorious French Pyrenees mountains.

About this course:

During what promises to be a delightful week of painting, I will both demonstrate and guide painters in the different ways they can create landscape paintings filled with colour, light and expression, using the magnificent views of the French Pyrenees mountains as well as the gardens and grounds of the beautiful Atelier Clos Mirabel estate as our inspiration.

Suitable for all artistic abilities, we will cover many of the essential aspects of painting and drawing including creating strong compositions, understanding the power of tonal values, how to achieve rich colour harmony and how to loosen up your brushwork. I will be on hand throughout the week, to give plenty of individual guidance as well as numerous group demonstrations and discussions.

I will be working in oils and gouache but Artists are welcome to work in either oils, acrylics or gouache paints, with plenty of time given for sketching and photography.

All artistic abilities are warmly welcomed to attend this retreat along with non painting friends or partners.

The Studio:

As well as working outside, we will have use of the large, well-ventilated, purpose built, art studio at Atelier Clos Mirabel. The studio is equipped with all the equipment we will need for the week including easels, tables, chairs and stools for working en plein-air as well as studio sundries such as water pots and rags.

What to Bring:

Peter will be in touch nearer the time with a recommended materials list. You will need to bring your own painting apron, paints, brushes and grounds for working on.

To Secure Your Place:

1) Please click on the link above to pay the non-refundable £100 tutor fee deposit. Please note, you only need to pay this for painting participants - non-painting partners are added later.

The staff at Atelier Clos Mirabel (who all speak English) will happily liaise with you about the most suitable accommodation for your needs. After contacting them, by email or through the website, they will reply within 24 hours. They work Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. You will pay a 350 euro deposit to secure your accommodation.

3) We will invoice you for the remaining tutor fee (£450) 16 weeks before the start of the retreat.

4) Atelier Clos Mirabel will be in touch 10 - 12 weeks before, with a reminder about paying the balance for your accommodation.
