Garden Painting Workshops: 9, 10 & 11 July

£75.00

Dates available:

Wednesday 9th July - SOLD OUT

Thursday 10th July - SOLD OUT

Friday 11th July - LAST SPACES AVAILABLE

Participants are welcome to join for 1 day, 2 days, or the full 3 days.

Following the sell-out success of last 3 summer’s painting days, come and paint with Peter Keegan at the beautiful private gardens of Kingsbridge Farm, Steeple Claydon, Buckinghamshire, by kind permission of Mrs Serena Aldous.

We’re delighted that 25% of these painting days will donated to the Institute for Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapy.

What to expect
Join Peter for a plein air painting workshop based at a beautiful private garden near his studio in North Buckinghamshire. Each daily workshop will include detailed demonstrations and lots of opportunities for 1-2-1 guidance as you paint.

Although suitable for all abilities, some previous painting experience would be beneficial to get the most out of the experience.

The Venue

A stunning, 6-acre, National Garden Scheme private garden, with colour themed herbaceous borders, clipped yews, mature trees, shrub woodland and a beautiful farmhouse with a variety of cottage flowers, surrounded by countryside views.

Although this is primarily a plein air (outside) painting workshop, in case of bad weather or for those who would prefer to, we have the option of painting in the large, welcoming barn and other enclosed areas across the gardens.

Itinerary

Arrivals from 9:30am for a 10am start and brief tour of the gardens and morning demonstration

Lunch: 1-2pm followed by an afternoon demonstration

Finish: 4pm

Materials

Artists are asked to bring all their own painting materials. Although Peter will be working in oil paints or gouache, artists working in all mediums are warmly welcomed. During each day, Peter will do 2 painting demonstrations leaving plenty of time for your own painting, with Peter on hand for individual support and guidance.

Peter will be working with Michael Harding Oils in the following colours: Titanium White, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red, Crimson, Viridian, Cobalt Blue and Ultramarine.

Other possible colours (but not essential) could include: Cadmium Yellow, Magenta, Purple, Sap Green, Raw Umber, Ivory Black.

Brushes: Appropriate brushes for your chosen medium. Peter uses Hog Filbert brushes from Rosemary & Co.

Grounds: Appropriate ground for your chosen medium. Peter will be using 2 primed, canvas boards. Approx size 20x30cm

Other items: Field/French/portable easel, palette, painting medium or water, sketch pad and pencil, rags/tissues, carrier bag for waste.

Attire: We will be spending the time outdoors in the British weather, so come prepared for all eventualities. Sun hats, sunscreen and appropriate footwear is recommended.

Lunch: Please bring your own lunch with you.

What is provided:

Tea, coffee and sweet treats throughout the day.

Plastic garden chairs for those who require them.

2 painting demonstrations per-day and plenty of 1-2-1 guidance and support.

Spaces are limited to 16 Artists per day.
