About this course
Painting the human face remains Peter’s favourite subject matter and during this NEW online painting course, you will learn how he paints 2 different half-length portraits, in his own loose and painterly style.
During the 4 lessons, you will cover the following:
How to begin the portrait whilst successfully composing them on the canvas
Achieving accurate proportions whilst keeping the painting loose
Creating a range of colours that work together and capture the character of the subject
Strategies for painting arms and hands
The two different models we will be painting from will be a redheaded man and young costumed girl (an example of which you can see above)

By the end of this course, you will have created 2 different half-length portrait paintings.
Peter uses oil paints throughout this course, although this course would also be of benefit to those artists who prefer working in acrylics as Peter does talk about how he would use acrylics in some of the lessons.
