About this course
From old to young, black to white, beautiful to…characterful; the world presents us with such a rich variety of wonderful faces to paint and this course will explore many of these exciting challenges and more. Looking at 5 different faces, Peter will demonstrate how he goes about painting them in his famous, easy-to-follow, step-by-step approach.
During the 5 lessons, you will cover the following:
Getting a painting off to a strong start
How to move away from gridding, tracing or projecting and gain confidence with drawing with the brush
Achieving accurate facial proportions with age-old measuring techniques used by the masters
Mixing appropriate skin tones and colours without needing to spend a fortune on paint
How to stop your portrait painting becoming too tight and overworked
Capturing both likeness AND character in your portraits
The differences between painting a child and an adult
