Please see some of our frequently asked questions and our answers to them. If there’s a question you have that we haven’t answered yet, please feel free to contact us.

  • Can I book a course myself or do I have to do it over the phone?

You can book the course yourself directly from this website. Simply click the course you’d like to attend, enter the number of spaces you wish to book and click ‘Book Course’. This will be added to your ‘shopping trolley’ featured in the top right hand corner of the screen. Click this and you’ll be able to add your contact and booking details. However, if you’re unable to book online, please call us and we can take your booking over the phone.

  • I want to do one of your online courses but I don’t have Zoom - can I watch another way?

At the moment all of our virtual demonstrations are broadcast through Zoom so you will need a Zoom account which is free to set-up. We will help you as best as we can in advance of the demonstration but do bear in mind, we are not technical experts. Once the demo is underway, we are not able to offer technical assistance because we will be busy broadcasting live.

  • I am coming to do a course from further afield - do you offer accommodation?

No we do not but we are very lucky to be able to recommend a range of excellent accommodation options in the area. Please contact us for more details.

  • Do you include lunch?

No we do not but there are several nearby venues where you can purchase something. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own lunch which you can store in the studio fridge or heat up in the microwave.

  • I’m a complete, never-done-anything-like-this, beginner. Will this course be suitable for me?

Unless stated, most of our courses are suitable for the complete beginner. We know there will be a range of abilities and experiences in the studio during a course and all of our tutors are there to help guide, support and teach you the essentials in order for you to fully participate in the course. If you are in any way concerned about your ability to take part in the course, please contact us for further details.

  • I am disabled and have low mobility. Will I be able to get access into the studio?

Yes - our studio is completely accessible with level access in and throughout the studio. If you are in any way concerned about your ability to take part in the course, please contact us for further details.

  • Do I need to bring my own materials?

Do to the varied nature of our courses, some do require you to bring some equipment, whilst others will provide you with everything you need. Some courses will also ask for a materials fee, payable directly to the tutor on the day of the course, to cover the cost of some essential materials. All of these arrangements are made clear on the course page at the time of booking. For any further details about this, please do contact us.

  • What if my course is cancelled due to Covid-19?

In the first instance we will look to rearrange the course but you are not obliged to take the place on the new dates, so we will give you a credit voucher or full refund.

  • Other venues are running courses with Covid-19 precautions in place - screens and masks etc - why aren’t you?

We believe that we all have a part to play in bringing the spread of the virus under control. There is still so much which is unknown about how the virus spreads and despite the effect that the cancellations have had on our business, morally, we felt we could not bring different groups of people together every day, from all across the country, at a time when we are being encouraged to avoid unnecessary social contact. We provide leisure learning experiences which, though highly enjoyable and beneficial in lots of ways for lots of people, are not essential activities. We have taken the decision not to run in person courses to protect your health, our health and to protect the NHS from being overwhelmed and we hope you can respect our decision.
